Class Structure

All classes throughout the year will include a combination of the following:

  • Warm-Up
  • Stretching
  • Ballet
  • General Gymnastics (cartwheels, rolls, handstands, partner balances)
  • Body technique (balancing, leaping, turning, galloping)
  • Apparatus technique (ribbons, balls, hoops, scarves, clubs or anything that we can manipulate as a hand apparatus)
  • Routines

The above skills will be combined together to create choreographed routines. These routines will be performed as a group at our two Gymnaestrada Shows.

Policies

Gym Etiquette

To support a positive and focused learning environment for our gymnasts, parents and spectators are not permitted to remain in the gym during regular classes. Limiting spectators helps reduce noise and distractions, allowing gymnasts to stay engaged and learn more effectively.

Exceptions may be made with prior permission from the coach if a

parent’s presence is needed.

If permission is granted:

• Parents must sit quietly for the duration of class

• No additional children may be brought into the gym

• Coaches reserve the right to ask a parent to leave if the learning

environment is impacted

Gymnasts in our Jellybean class require a parent to remain on site at all

times.

Animals are not permitted inside the gym.

Gym Safety, Participation & Conduct

Illusions is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all

athletes, coaches, and families. Coaches reserve the right to contact

parents and request early pickup if a gymnast is unable to participate in

class in a safe and meaningful manner.

A safe environment includes:

• Maintaining a calm body and voice

• Being respectful to coaches and fellow gymnasts

• Respecting all gym, club, and personal property

Meaningful participation includes:

• Following directions

• Staying engaged throughout the entire class

• Demonstrating a willingness to try new skills

Attendance at Illusions Gymnaestradas (Winter Gymnaestrada and/or

Year-End Gymnaestrada) is mandatory for all gymnasts enrolled in the

session. Tickets for these shows will go on sale approximately three weeks

prior to the show date.

Privacy & Communication

Illusions values the privacy of our coaches and families. Coaches’ personal

phone numbers are shared with families in trust and are provided solely for

approved communication purposes.

Coaches’ phone numbers must not be shared with anyone outside your

family.

While we appreciate referrals, all new or prospective families must be

directed to irgsgymnastics@gmail.com for inquiries and registration.
